At 9am on Wednesday the 24th of January members of the international business community met at the Intercontinental Hotel in Chongqing ahead of the Pilot FTZ workshop. The event was organised by the British Chamber of Commerce, Southwest China with support from the Italian, Australian and European Chambers. The event aimed to bring together foreign businesses in Southwest China, the Chinese business community and policy makers, to facilitate closer communications to create a better business environment in the Southwest. The event focused on the newly set up FTZ in Chongqing. Throughout the day multiple issues were discussed including system innovation, the legal environment and enterprise services in a bid to explore the true potential of the Pilot FTZ. Speeches were given by BritCham chairman Richard Han and Membership and Operations Manager, Danny Miller.
