Collaborating with Tsinghua University, CBBC presents a new report, the China-Britain Belt and Road Case Studies Report 2016: Global Partnerships in Action, which uses real examples of China-UK cooperation in order to bring to life the true potential of the Belt and Road. The report lists 21 examples of UK-China cooperation in Europe (UK, Romania, Russia), the Middle East (Iraq), Asia (Pakistan, Bangladesh, China, Indonesia) and Africa (Nigeria, Tanzania) on projects worth more than US$27billion.

China’s State Council announced ‘Made in China 2025’ in May 2015 as a national initiative to improve the manufacturing industry – initially up to 2025 and then on to 2035 and 2049. The goal is to transform China into a leading manufacturing power and the process has already begun – with 50 pilot projects started across China in 2015. Made in China 2025 is a report delivered by the CBBC and UKTI to analyse what this initiative is, and how UK companies can benefit.

SMEPic

This is a unique, national event designed to assist UK SMEs expand their business in the China market. In 2015 it attracted 300 participants, including a Chinese delegation led by the Vice Mayor of Ningbo featuring representatives from 30 Chinese companies across a variety of sectors. Previously held in Manchester (2013), Birmingham (2014) and Nottingham (2015) the fourth SME China Forum will be held at Celtic Park in Glasgow, Scotland on 21 September 2016.
