Sustainable Cities Dinner Reception
Date: Friday, 25th June, 2010
Time: 18:30-late
Venue: Harbour Hotel - Roof Garden, Chongqing
On Friday the 25th June 2010, the British Chamber of Commerce South West China hosted a dinner reception on the beautiful roof garden of the Chongqing Harbour Plaza hotel with attendees flying in from the UK, US, Canada, Hong Kong and other parts of China. We were also joined by the former Deputy Prime Minister and First Secretary of State of the UK, John Prescott.
Following directly from the ‘Delivering Sustainable Futures Conference’, organised by UKTI and COFTEC, the dinner reception celebrated the bringing together of international professionals from around the world and the launching of the Two Rivers Technology (TRT) project by Noble House which will see the development of an eco-park in Chongqing’s Beibei district.
The evening brought together varied professionals from the legal community, the low carbon technology industry, the local government and dignitaries from the UK, USA, Canada, Hong Kong and also locally from Chongqing and mainland China. Set amongst the Chongqing skyline, the guests enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere of the Harbour Plaza roof garden on a night that was hailed by all as a resounding success. Both for creating new and finalising current business opportunities for the future development of the participating companies in Chongqing, but also as a worthy end to a productive day of discussion.
The British Chamber of Commerce Southwest China would like to thank the Harbour Plaza for providing a spectacular service and a very special venue to host the event. To The Harp – Irish Pub for providing a fully stocked beer bar and to COKC Business Co. for providing an excellent selection of Bulgarian wines for our guests to enjoy.
The British Chamber of Commerce Southwest China would also like to thank our event sponsors, Pinsent Masons and Noble House Media for helping make the evening such a great success and we look forward to working with them again in the future.
