The Council of the European Union has adopted its EU Strategy in China at its meeting held in Brussels on 18 July 2016. The council has provided the policy framework for EU engagement with China over the coming years.
The council sees major opportunities for EU co-operation with China, in particular contributing to creating jobs and growth within the European Union, and the framework sets out how this will be achieved.
The council expects the EU’s relationship with China to be one of reciprocal benefit in all respects.
