Help the Chengdu ShelterBox Drive for Haiti

As you would be aware, there has been a major natural disaster that has taken place once again in Haiti. Earlier this month a hurricane with winds up to 230km/h (145mph) ripped through Haiti killing hundreds of people and leaving tens of thousands without a home. The Rotary Club of Chengdu (RCC), and Beanstalk International Bilingual School (BIBS) Chengdu, have partnered together to raise funds to purchase ShelterBoxes for those that have been effected by the disaster and similar disasters. The name of the campaign is the ‘Chengdu ShelterBox Drive for Haiti’. The campaign will run from October 17 – November 26, 2016.

We would like to officially invite you to partner with us in reaching Chengdu’s goal of sponsoring 10 ShelterBoxes at a value of 6,000USD (1,000USD per ShelterBox).
What is a ShelterBox?
A ShelterBox is essentially a survival box that contains a tent and some basic survival equipment to give disaster effected families a chance to survive and recover. For more information please see the attached poster, FACTS & FIGURES and visit the ShelterBox website:
How can I participate?
There are 2 levels of participation:
Sponsor: There is an option for companies or organisations to sponsor a ShelterBox. This means that companies decide they will internally raise funds via their own networks and fund raising activities to raise enough money to fund a ShelterBox. Each Sponsor would take on the responsibility of raising 6,800 RMB for each ShelterBox. On completion of the campaign those sponsors would deposit the money directly to the ShelterBox organisation and receive recognition from the ‘‘Chengdu ShelterBox Drive for Haiti’.
Donate: You can make a cash donation as an individual, company or organisation by visiting any of our Location Partners and registering your donation.
If you have other ideas about how you can help, please let us know.
