CBBC is seeking a Consultant to work as part of the CBBC project team based in Beijing and a Business Development Manager for Arrayjet Ltd.

Consultant – CBBC Beijing

As a Consultant, you will possess consulting and project management skills, established business knowledge, research and analytical capabilities to help our clients find and deliver optimal business solutions. You should be a confident and energetic team player and also a very strong team leader who is keen to work on a diverse range of trade promotion activities in a fast growing market.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high quality research and trade services events to UK businesses in China. Experience in the energy, environment and infrastructure sector is desirable.  

 

Main responsibilities

• The promotion and delivery of UKTI and CBBC services; 

• Providing consultation with businesses of all sizes and experience;

• Advising clients on market entry into China and other business strategies; 

• Analysing market intelligence on a range of industry sectors; 

• Compiling in-depth market reports for clients; 

• Identifying business partners and opportunities for British businesses; 

• Maintain relationships with government departments and agencies and industry contacts; 

• Contribute to the CBBC project teams by developing and sharing knowledge,     thought leadership and solutions; 

• Coach and assist project team members in capability development;

• Provide leadership and liaison with clients in arranging trade missions and other events specific to your assigned sector; and

• As Consultant, you should be able to manage and implement a project or research independently or can work with other project managers as a team leader.

Requirements

• Master degree (desirable). 

• Excellent written and spoken English (essential). 

• At least 7/8 years relevant work experience. 

• Passion for business development and excellent client facing skills.

• Self-motivated, with a flexible and entrepreneurial style of working.

• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

• Have excellent data processing and IT skills. 

• Have good interpersonal skills.

• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Be able to deal with various tasks at once

• Have good project management and organisation skills

• Have strong attention to detail

Business Development Manager – Arrayjet Ltd

In conjunction with our member organisation, Arrayjet Ltd, CBBC is currently looking to recruit a candidate for the position of Business Development Manager, which will be based in Shanghai or Beijing.

The Role

The key functions of this will require the candidate to plan and carry out sales activities for instruments and services. Arrayjet put a strong emphasis on personal interactions and customers, so the ideal candidate will be a well-presented sales professional with excellent communications skills. The individual will need to be able to support our distributor in China, and be able to build relationships with key clients to successfully execute multi-stage sales processes for high value instrumentation and long-term manufacturing contracts. This role will require good research skills, communication and organisation. The expectation would be extensive travel across China setting up meetings to visit potential customers. This person would report into the Commercial Manager for Asia Pacific.

 

Responsibilities

• Manage sales activity across China to achieve quarterly and annual sales targets. 

• Organise appointments/qualify leads across China with potential customers who are involved in or have a need for bio-printing/microarray printing.

• Engage, grow and maintain relationships with Arrayjet customers.

• Leverage Arrayjet customer base as reference sites to take potential customers to demonstrate Arrayjet technology.

• Create and execute sales & marketing strategy to generate awareness of Arrayjet technology and increase revenue.

• Preparing strategic key account plans for high value potential customers.

• Develop a strong understanding of Arrayjet’s products & services and key selling points, becoming fluent in relating the technology to its applications.

 

Skills & Qualifications

A. Education and Training

• Bachelors/Masters degree in Life Science

• Excellent command of English

 

B. Experience and Skills

• Experience with microarray technology required

• Minimum 3 years sales experience or experience working in a commercial environment

• Established sales network

 

C. Demonstrable skills

• Self motivated, organised and able to deal with customers/contacts at the highest level

• The ability to grow with the business and develop new contacts/customers as the business grows 

• The ability to research and approach new customers/contacts

• Ability to present to prospective customers through sales presentations

• Excellent written and spoken English is essential

 

The job holders will report administratively to CBBC’s office managers in TBC, and functionally will report to and be supported by Russell Brown in the UK.
