2017 International Earthday – ChengDO Urban Forest Project

On the 22nd of  April, British Chamber of Commerce Southwest China organised the Cheng-DO Urban Forest Project-Earth Day 2017.
The idea came from our Sustainable Focus Group, which took inspiration from Global Goal 15; Life On Land.  These goals have motivated people across the world to improve the environment, and from now on we can proudly say that Chengdu has made its mark.

Everything, small or big starts out as just an idea.
Above you can see the initial seed being planted,
leading to everyone taking part and working together
to improve the environment.

Carefully discussing how to best execute the idea- an initial planning meeting took place at the British Business Centre in Feburary.

150 trees were planned to be planted at the Lioncity Nature Park.

While a lot of hard work took place, we also had fun with
activities such as Go Carting, Animal Feeding, BBQ
and much more.

It was a spectacularly active day for everyone working together towards a common goal.

And it was a delight to see how the area evolved in just
a few hours.

We are proud to announce that 150 trees were planted in 2 hours! What an amazing day!

We want to give special thanks to all the event supporters including AustCham West China, the Barn, Urban Hydrid, Soong Ching Ling, Edu Travel, Grains & Beans, and thanks to the Lioncity Nature Park for hosting the event.
