To celebrate our 20th anniversary in Southwest China, we put together a special, bilingual, commemorative edition of our Face magazine and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Within its 64 pages, we looked at the history of the Chamber, spoke to many members and looked to what the future holds for our Chamber. Yet more importantly it also details the present past and future of our members and the region as a whole.
There is a 10 page history of the Chamber in Southwest China, which includes interviews with previous committee members including the very first Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Treasurer. As a small tribute to the chamber’s history, one small nugget in the magazine also is an interesting copy of a letter from the Duke of York to then Chairman Paul Sives thanking him for ensuring that he had an enjoyable stay in Chengdu when he visited in 2008.
The magazine gives also impressive overviews of Chengdu and Chongqing, it also details their relationships with their British sister cities of Sheffield and Leicester respectively. These features truly highlight the development here in the Southwest and the importance of Anglo-Chinese relations.
Perhaps the most impressive section of the magazine is the interview with current members, rediscovering all the success that they are achieving. It is brilliant to see our members new and old from every sector of industry continuing to push boundaries.
