Events


The Chamber manages 50+ events each year, offering gainful opportunities to network with like-minded business people. Members are able to attend events at either complimentary or preferential rates. Our Focus Groups are targeting specific sectors and drive the majority of our events.

2017 BritCham SW Annual General Meeting @ Grand Hyatt Chengdu F12 Palais 成都群光君悦酒店

Nominations for the 2017/18 Executive Committee of the British Chamber of Commerce, Southwest China (BCCSWC) are now open.

The election of these candidates will take place at our 2017 Annual General Meeting, which will be held on Friday 23rd June 2017, 15:00-17:30 hrs at the Grand Hyatt Chengdu, Lv12 Palais. (Please see below for registration details).

Annual General Meeting (AGM)
The AGM takes place annually in order to review the past year’s performance, elect the incoming Executive Committee and to consider any other business raised prior to the meeting.
Available Positions
There are 10x Executive Committee positions available for nomination, which are;

a.   4x Officers: Including one Chairman, two Vice Chairmen, and one Treasurer, who will be responsible for the day-to-day business of the Chamber and be entitled to vote on all issues before the Committee; and

b.   6x At-large Committee Members: Who will assist the Officers in carrying out the day-to-day business of the Chamber and also be entitled to vote on all issues before the Committee.

 

Applicant Requirements
Please note, only Voting Corporate Member Company Representatives* may run and are eligible to vote at the AGM.  

Please also note that if your company is over 2 months in arrears of membership renewal payment you will not be eligible for nomination or to vote. Please contact info@britchamswchina.org to check your membership status or complete your renewal process.

*A voting corporate company is any company, or other organisation which is incorporated or registered in any part of the United Kingdom or which satisfy the Committee of a substantial connection with the United Kingdom. The representative is the person nominated in your application form to join the Chamber as the representative for your company.

To apply or nominate a candidate for one of the above positions, please fully complete the ‘BCCSWC China Executive Committee Nomination Form 2017′.

Supported Event: Chengdu Promotion Bureau: Visit to the Qingbaijiang District @ Qingbaijiang District

The British Chamber of Commerce Southwest China would kindly like to invite you to a promotional event to get an insight and understanding of the investment business environment at the Qingbaijiang District organised by Chengdu Promotion Bureau on Tuesday 3rd of April. This motivating day will include meeting representatives from Qingbaijian & Chengdu Government, visits to the European Industry City Showroom & Chengdu International Railway Park showroom, interesting presentations about foreign investment in Chengdu, consultation opportunity, visit to a cherry blossom park and much more.

2018 Annual General Meeting @ Grand Hyatt Chengdu

The British Chamber of Commerce in Southwest China will hold its 2018 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday 6th June 2018, 16:00 – 17:30 hrs at Grand Hyatt Chengdu.  We encourage as many members as possible to attend this meeting!

You must be proposed and seconded by two separate member company representatives before giving your own consent for the position you’d like to run for. The proposing and seconding representatives must all fill in the same form which then needs to be returned to BritChamSW at the above email address before the deadline.

Who can attend the AGM?
Any employee from any of our member companies can attend – and it is fine to have multiple attendees from one company. No distinction is made between “CBBC members” and “BritCham members”. Individual members may also attend but may not vote. Non-members may not attend! 

Who can vote at the AGM?
Each member company has one vote. Each member company has one “nominated person” who is the main point of contact with the Chamber and normally this will be the person who attends the AGM to vote. However, we can easily transfer the vote to another company representative if that person agrees. If more than one person attends from the same company then only one may vote.

2020 Annual General Meeting for BritCham SW Members @ The Study, Temple House Hotel, Chengdu

The British Chamber of Commerce in Southwest China will hold its 2020 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 1st of July 2020(Wednesday), 16:00 – 18:00 hrs at The Temple House Chengdu.  We would like to invite all members to attend this meeting.
