2016 Great British Brands Festival Helps UK Companies Capitalise in China’s Emerging Markets


This years GBBF began in Nanjing this week following a warm-up event in Quanzhou in China’s Fujian province on April 18. GBBF 2016 builds upon the success of 2015 in which 49 British brands collectively amassed sales of over RMB 12.5 million (£1.25 million).

This year the festival will tap into some of the emerging markets in China- such as Fuzhou, Taiyuan, Shenzhen and Changsha. There will also be 2 online initiatives to allow British brands to explore China’s leading E-Commerce platforms.

Any company selling British consumer products is eligible to participate, with priority given to memebrs of CBBC and the British Chamber of Commerce in China. Past Exhibits gave ranged from menswhere, sahion and jewelry to food and drink, and even cars. Past exhibitors include Burberry, Twinings Tea, Dyson, and Britax.
