Chengdu Again Topped the Ranking of the New First-tier Cities in China 成都再次位居“新一线”城市榜首 ( 2023-5-31)
On May 30, the Ranking of Cities’ Business Attractiveness in China 2023 was released by the Rising Lab. The top 15 new first-tier cities among the 337 cities at the prefecture level and above in China are Chengdu, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Suzhou, Xi’an, Nanjing, Changsha, Tianjin, Zhengzhou, Dongguan, Qingdao, Kunming, Ningbo and Hefei. Chengdu again topped the ranking.

China Railway Express Resumes Meat Import and Export 中欧班列进出口肉类重启(2023-5-9)
On May 7, a cold-chain train carrying imported meat products departing from Moscow and destined for Chengdu arrived at the port of entry at Alataw Pass. This marks the first shipment of imported meat products transported by the China Railway Express this year and signifies that the Chengdu International Railway Port is the first in the country to resume cold chain meat imports. On May 9, 20 tonnes of eel products processed in Sichuan were exported to Russia from Chengdu through the Chengdu China Railway Express for the first time, further expanding the types of cargo transported by cold chain trains of Chengdu International Railway Express, in addition to fresh vegetables, fruit and meat, providing Sichuan producers with a low-cost and time-efficient logistics option compared to air or maritime transportation.
据成都国际铁路港，5 月7 日，从莫斯科发运至成都的进口肉类冷链班列到达阿拉山口，这是今年以来全国首批通过中欧班列入境的进口肉类，标志着成都国际铁路港进口肉类冷链业务在全国率先完成重启。5 月9 日，20吨四川产鳗鱼加工制品首次搭乘成都中欧班列出口俄罗斯。这是成都国际班列在此前冷链生鲜蔬菜、水果，肉类等基础上，冷链运输品类的再扩大，为川内生产型企业提供了一条较空运，海运来说实现低运价、高时效的运输通道。
All 21 Buildings of Chengdu’s Largest Hydrogen Energy Industry Complex Topped Out 成都最大氢能产业综合体全部 21 栋建筑封顶 (2023-5-10)
On May 9, the Green and Low-carbon Industry Building up Industrial Ecosystem and Strengthening Industrial Chains Innovative Cooperation Forum & Western Industry Park for Hydrogen Promotion and Contract-signing Ceremony was held. With a total investment of approximately 2.3 billion yuan and an area of over 410,000 square meters, the Western Industry Park for Hydrogen stands as Chengdu’s largest hydrogen energy industry complex. Currently, all 21 buildings in the park have been topped out, and the Industry Exhibition Centre put into operation. Hydrogen energy, vehicle electronics and environment protection enterprises have been introduced, and the park is expected to be officially put into operation in the first half of 2024.

Chengdu to Increase the Frequency of Multiple Direct International Flights 成都将恢复加密多条国际直飞航线 (2023-5-17)
Chengdu will resume and increase the frequency of multiple direct international flights. Currently, Chengdu has more than 30 international and regional passenger routes flying, connecting five continents, and 20 stable international freight routes operating. Sichuan Airlines has resumed its direct flight from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport and Osaka, Japan. Air China Southwest Branch announced that it would soon resume direct flights from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport to Bangkok, Thailand. It would also increase the frequency of direct international flight services from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport to Kathmandu (Nepal), Seoul (South Korea), Phuket Island (Thailand) to better serve the recovering cross-border tourism market.

20 Projects to Receive Annual Investment of 7.9 Billion Yuan 共营成德眉资“都市生态圈”20 个项目年度投资约 79 亿元元（2023-5-24)
In 2023, the Chengdu Metropolitan Area will invest about 7.9 billion yuan to promote 20 key projects focusing on ecology and environment protection, building Chengdu-Deyang-Meishan- Ziyang “urban ecological circle”. Focusing on water resource security and joint mechanism for the prevention and control of environment pollution, an investment of 4.516 billion yuan will be allocated to 14 projects for the protection of water resources and water environment of Chengdu, Deyang, Meishan and Ziyang. In addition, through regional cooperation, Chengdu and its partner cities will strengthen the construction of metropolitan area green ecological network with six projects, to jointly develop the Longquan Mountain Urban Forest Park, jointly advance the construction of the Giant Panda National Park, establish standardized management and protection stations and restore giant panda habitats, and collectively implement ecological restoration and protection in the Longmen Mountains, Qionglai Mountains, and other western mountainous areas.

Chengdu’s Total Retail Sales of Consumer Goods Reach 317.36 Billion Yuan in First Four Months 前 4 月成都社会消费品零售总额 3173.6 亿元 (2023-5-24)
From January to April, 2023, the added value of Chengdu’s industries above designated size increased by 3.7% year-on-year, and the total retail sales of consumer goods in the city increased by 7.5% year-on-year to reach 317.36 billion yuan. In terms of industrial production, light industry and heavy industry increased by 4.8% and 3.3% respectively. Among different industries, the five advanced manufacturing industries experienced a growth of 4.2%. In terms of the consumption market, the retail sales of urban consumer goods increased by 7.6% to 305. 16 billion yuan, while the retail sales of rural consumer goods increased by 5.2% to 12.21 billion yuan

Chongqing’s Urban Opportunity List Released, Attracting Foreign Investment(2023.5.26)
Chongqing – An investment of over 100 billion yuan (about 14.19 billion U.S. dollars) in 2023 Urban Opportunity List projects in Chongqing’s Nan’an District and Chongqing Economic and Technological Development Zone was released at a press conference Friday. Chongqing Municipal People’s Government calls on intending enterprises to participate in the projects, sharing economic, social, and ecological benefits, improving the key industry chains and enterprise development, and focusing on foreign investment and local cultivation. The 2023 Urban Opportunity list includes 75 items in four aspects, including urban development and construction, urban renewal, integrated development of culture, sports, tourism and agriculture, industrial transformation, and upgrading. Twenty-six projects are included in the urban renewal category with an investment of about 44.5 billion yuan, which targets improving Chongqing’s urban function, quality, and value.
Guiyang companies share experience of going global (2023.5.15)
Guiyang, capital of Southwest China’s Guizhou province, hosted a seminar on May 12 centered around the topic of globalizing brands. Jointly organized by Guizhou International Economic and Trade Center and China (Guiyang) Cross-border E- Commerce Public Service Platform, the seminar attracted over 20 companies.
At the seminar, Guizhou Qiantong E-commerce Service Co introduced the operation model and business processes of cross-border e-commerce, shedding light on the pivotal role played by the China (Guiyang) Cross-border E-Commerce Public Service Platform.
This platform, erected by the China (Guiyang) Cross-border E-Commerce Public Service Platform, was built by Guizhou Qiantong E-commerce Service Co, approved by the Guiyang Bureau of Commerce, and serves as a municipal-level public service platform for cross-border e-commerce.
By establishing system interfaces with various entities involved in cross-border e-commerce, such as government agencies, regulatory departments, e-commerce platforms, logistics platforms, and payment platforms, the platform effectively engages in data exchange, offering various services to cross-border businesses. These services include facilitating cross-border business declaration, inquiry, data sharing, and other related services to e-commerce enterprises.
Importantly, the platform extends comprehensive services and support to empower companies in Guiyang to engage effectively in cross-border e- commerce endeavors.
Wang Lei, a representative from the Guizhou International Economic and Trade Center, highlighted the seminar’s objective of providing local businesses with international market advice from industry experts tailored to the distinctive attributes of Guizhou products. The overarching goal is to establish a communication platform.
Wang expressed, “Based upon the foundation of Guizhou products, our aim is to help Guizhou companies in conducting cross-border e-commerce through the Tiktok + independent store approach. By doing so, we can amplify the influence of Guizhou products in overseas markets and support the global expansion of Guizhou companies.”
