Lucton School, founded in 1708, is an independent school with a proud heritage of 314 years of elite education in the UK. Three centuries later, Lucton celebrated its tercentenary and hosted a visit from Prince Edward. Lucton School Shanghai officially opened in September 2018. Job Purpose

• To support the Head in the day to day running of the school in relation to academics
• To lead the academic teaching team to excellence in IGCSE and A-Level results
• To provide creative, adaptive, and comprehensive support for student development
• To develop the professional teaching and learning standards for students and teachers
• To develop the key skills of our students in preparation for university overseas
• To be in charge of Students Safeguarding issues, Personal and Team Teaching and Learning, School/Academic Operations and Management, and Pastoral Care

Desired Candidates

• Nationality – Speak English at an idiomatic level
• Education – Bachelor or above
• Major – Math/English or Education desirable
• Teaching experience – At least 2 years on IGCSE or A-Level curriculum
• Certification – PGCE or PGCEI is highly desirable
• Others
  • Passionate and knowledgeable teachers of their subject
  • Minimum 2 years of full-time leadership experience in an international school setting
  • Central to the pastoral provision in the school and aware of the pastoral welfare of all students with whom they come into contact
  • Support prep, recruiting or marketing events
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively in order to meet deadlines and plan for teaching and learning needs in advance so quality is high and quality checks are built in
  • Excellent professionalism, strong sense of responsibility, and emotional intelligence
  • Previous experience teaching Chinese/EAL students an advantage
