岩羊Blue Sheep, also known as Blue Sheep Handicrafts & Gift Shop, is a social enterprise that has been featured on CCTV and major media outlets, as well as being certified by the industry as a Good Social Enterprise in China. The founder, Rachel, a British doctor, has been involved in charity work for more than 50 years and used her savings to start Blue Sheep Handicrafts & Gift Shop in Chengdu.

Blue Sheep Handicrafts & Gift Shop helps disadvantaged artisans from remote mountainous areas or handicapped groups by purchasing their handicrafts and establishing a sustainable sales platform. Blue Sheep Handicrafts & Gift Shop adheres to fair trade and prompt payment, with 100% of profits going to special needs groups to give them healthier choices in life. Currently, over a thousand people have been helped by Blue Sheep Handicrafts & Gift Shop.

岩羊BlueSheep，又名岩羊手工礼品店，是一家被央视和各大媒体报道，同时也被行业认证为《中国好社企》的社会企业。创始人英国医生Rachel，从事公益事业50余年，并用积蓄在成都创办了岩羊。

岩羊主要帮助来自偏远高山或有障群体的弱势手工匠人，购买他们的手工艺品，建立可持续的销售平台。岩羊坚持公平贸易及时付款，利润100%捐给特需人群，让他们对生活有更健康的选择。目前，有上千人在岩羊得到了帮助

About the Founder

关于创始人

Rachel qualified as a doctor in 1968 and has dedicated her life to helping those who do not have access to healthcare. Whilst studying medicine in the UK, she had the opportunity to visit a rural hospital in the mountains of Nepal. It was there that she slowly began to understand how people living in extreme poverty and lack of choice lived, and it was this experience that changed her life.

Since then, she has worked in 15 countries as a medical doctor and also trained village doctor to treat local patients. It became clear to her that in addition to ensuring that people in remote areas had access to healthcare, an important way to improve the health of the poor was to alleviate their financial pressures.

In 2008, Dr Rachel was involved in earthquake relief in Wenchuan. Surprisingly, she decided to change her career afterwards and used her savings to open the Blue Sheep Handicrafts & Gift Shop to help more people in the affected areas and others in need.

1968年，瑞秋获得了医生资格证，她致力于帮助那些无法获得医疗服务的人。在英国学医期间，她有机会去到尼泊尔山区的一家乡村医院。在那里她开始慢慢了解到极度贫困和缺乏选择机会的人们是怎样生活的，正是这段经历改变了她的一生。

在之后，她曾在15个国家从事医疗工作，同时也培训乡村医生以治疗当地病人。此外，她清楚地认识到，除了确保偏远地区的人能获得医疗服务外，改善贫困人口健康状况的一个重要方法就是减轻他们的经济压力。

2008年，瑞秋医生在汶川参与了抗震救灾。出人意料的是，她在之后决定改变自己的职业，用自己的积蓄开办了岩羊手工礼品店，帮助更多灾区和其他需要帮助的人。
