2025 British Day, hosted by the British Chamber of Commerce Southwest China and supported by the British Consulate-General in Chongqing, was successfully held on Saturday, April 12th at the Luxelakes D3 Grand Lawn. Though the drizzly morning cast a shadow over the event, the skies gradually cleared around noon as enthusiastic participants began arriving in full spirit. Ultimately, over a thousand guests gathered for this spring celebration, basking in the warm afternoon sunshine while immersing themselves in British charm, with the venue radiating joy and harmony.

由中国西南英国商会主办、英国驻重庆总领事馆支持的2025英国日活动于4月12日（周六）在麓湖D3大草坪精彩呈现。虽然上午阴雨绵绵的天气给活动蒙上一层阴影，但临近中午时分天空逐渐放晴，热情的参与者们纷纷如约而至。最终上千名嘉宾共聚这场春日盛会，在午后温暖的阳光下畅享英伦风情，现场洋溢着欢乐融洽的氛围。

The event was hosted by Abbie Holmes, the Vice Chair of BritCham SW, and Sam Pu, the General Manager of BritCham SW.

本次活动由中国西南英国商会副主席Abbie Holmes和中国西南英国商会总经理Sam Pu主持。

As the event kicked off, Paul Sives, Chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce Southwest China, took the stage and delivered an opening speech.

在活动拉开帷幕之际，中国西南英国商会主席Paul Sives率先登台，发表了开场致辞。

We were very delighted to host Mr. Anthony Preston, the British Consul General in Chongqing, for the welcome speech of the 2025 British Day.

Ms. Rachel Grace Pinniger, founder of the Blue Sheep Handicrafts & Gift Shop （Honorary member of the British Chamber of Commerce Southwest China）, came up to the stage and said goodbye to everyone. She recalled with gratitude the selfless support and encouragement given to Blue Sheep over the years, and it is this warmth and strength that has accompanied Blue Sheep all the way up to the present day.She firmly believes that even though she is leaving soon, everyone will continue to guard Blue Sheep and let it continue to shine in the future.

Of course, we can’t forget the iconic Tug-of-war! Teams battled it out, showcasing strength and camaraderie in this classic British tradition.
怎能忘记标志性的拔河比赛？各支队伍在这一经典的英式传统项目中展开激烈角逐，展现力量与友谊。

This year, we introduced a new and exciting activity—Dragon Boat Racing on Land! Teams of all ages came together to paddle their way to victory in this unique and fun-filled challenge. The spirit of teamwork and friendly competition was on full display as participants navigated their way through the course, bringing a fresh and energetic vibe to the event.

今年，我们新增了一项激动人心的活动——划龙舟！不同年龄团队齐聚一堂，在这一独特而充满乐趣的挑战中奋力划桨。他们在赛道上展现出团队合作和友好竞争的精神，为活动增添了新的活力与欢乐。

The children enthusiastically took the stage and participated in a fun-filled puzzle game – Whose piece is that? featuring British elements. Through the puzzle activity, they learned about famous British landmarks, with laughter filling the venue as they gained knowledge and joy while playing!

小朋友们热情洋溢地登上舞台，参与了一场充满趣味的英国元素拼图游戏，通过游戏认识了英国地标，现场欢笑声不断，在玩乐中收获了知识和快乐！

The Crazy Hat Competition was another highlight. Competitors donned their craziest hats, both store-bought and homemade, and showcased their creativity, winning fantastic prizes .

疯帽子比赛也是本次活动的一大亮点。参赛者们戴着他们最疯狂的帽子，无论是购买的还是自制的，都尽情展示了自己的创意，并赢得了精美奖品。

Attendees also explored a variety of booths, engaging in fun activities and games. There was something for everyone to enjoy!
当天，参与者们参观了众多摊位，参与了各种有趣的活动和游戏，每个人都能找到属于自己的乐趣。

Food stalls offered a wide range of delicious treats and refreshing beverages, perfect for recharging after a day of fun in the spring breeze.
美食摊位上，各种美味佳肴和清爽饮品琳琅满目，让大家在春风中尽情享受美食带来的惬意。

The event came to a close with the live band performance and the closing ceremony, as the activities gradually drew to an end after a day filled with fun and sunshine. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the families who joined us, and to performers who brought so much joy and created a delightful atmosphere, making the 2025 British Day a resounding success. Our thanks also go to all the vendors and volunteers for their invaluable help and support. Special thanks to our sponsors, without whose contributions the event would not have been possible.
