We organise events, create content, advise on policy, and build business communities in Chengdu, Chongqing, and are a part of the wider umbrella group: The British Chamber of Commerce China, which is headquartered in Beijing.

The British Chamber of Commerce Southwest China is seeking interns to support our daily operations. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an international business environment while working in an English-speaking office. Type of position: Part-time

Salary Range: Volunteer

Location: IFS, Jinjiang District, Chengdu

Supervisor: General Manager

Working Hours: 09:30-17:30, 2-3 working days/week

Commencing Date: As soon as possible

What do we offer for interns?

What will you be expected to do?

This internship position requires a minimum commitment of 3 months, with the possibility of extension based on your qualifications and availability. Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Event Support:

o Assisting with event marketing, including designing promotional materials, managing targeted invitations, and executing event promotion campaigns.

o Supporting on-site event operations such as registration, photography, and logistics.

o Conducting follow-up marketing activities and preparing post-event reviews.

Marketing and Communication:

o Creating and managing Chamber marketing materials, including official WeChat posts, newsletters, and website articles.

Administrative Support:

o Handling general office and administrative tasks.

Event Collaboration:

o Assisting with a variety of Chamber events, such as business conferences, networking socials, seminars, workshops, and community initiatives.

You will work as part of a small, dynamic team and contribute to a wide range of tasks, gaining hands-on experience in a collaborative and professional environment.

What do we expect from you?

We are looking for a hardworking and dedicated recent graduate (or soon-to-be graduate) eager to gain valuable work experience at the Chamber of Commerce. This opportunity is open to both English native speakers and Chinese local applicants.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent Chinese and English language skills.
  • Availability to work 2-3 days a week, starting as soon as possible, with a minimum commitment of three months.
  • Foundational understanding of China and Chinese public policy, with a strong personal interest in China’s industrial and trade policies.
  • Strong work ethic, creativity, and a positive attitude.
  • Good research abilities and IT skills (including proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Suite).
  • Ability to take initiative, multi-task, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
